The Position
The Washington State Residential Care Council of Adult Family Homes (WSRCC) is seeking a dynamic leader, with a passion and commitment for elder care, to serve as its new Executive Director. While the organization has been in existence since the early 1990s, its growth and impact has grown exponentially in the past few years. The new Executive Director, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, will have the opportunity to help chart the future for the industry in Washington State and will have a major impact on the levels of service to clients in the future.
The Organization
The Washington State Residential Care Council of Adult Family Homes exists to improve the lives & well-being of vulnerable adults through the support of Adult Family Homes. WSRCC represents thousands of homes in neighborhoods & communities throughout Washington, caring for nearly 20,000 seniors & adults with disabilities. Adult family homes provide care for up to six clients in a family home environment and are an alternative to assisted living and nursing home facilities.
WSRCC has had a significant impact on the professionalism and standards of care for its members which has resulted in a much higher level of service to members? clients. As our population continues to age the impact of WSRCC will continue to expand and to affect thousands of families across our state.
WSRCC is a unique organization in that it is both a traditional trade association for adult family homes and a collective bargaining agent for its members. As a trade association, it represents members? professional, educational, licensing and legislative relations needs. As a collective bargaining unit, it negotiates Medicaid reimbursement rates with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). The membership of WSRCC is composed of both Medicaid funded homes and private pay homes. Medicaid funded homes are required to be members of WSRCC to receive Medicaid funding.
The organization is statewide and is governed by an eleven-member elected Board of Directors. It is divided into 11 different regional chapters to serve its members and residents.

The Executive Director Position
The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer and day to day hands-on manager of the organization . The ED will advance the organization?s mission and values, provide strategic leadership, work with a variety of individuals and organizations, manage the overall operations, and ensure that WSRCC has the financial and human resources it needs to achieve its mission. WSRCC follows Carver Governance principles that outline the role and responsibilities of the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary will be competitive and will be based on qualifications and experience. Benefits are under review and will be discussed with finalists for the position.
