DEVORE, California ? Albert Schardt, 55, of Apple Valley was killed Wednesday morning after losing control of his 2006 Hyundai and crashing into the back of a big rig tractor trailer truck on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.
According to the report, paramedics responded to the scene of the crash about 8:42 a.m., but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the car accident in an effort to determine why Schardt lost control of the vehicle.
